We are heading over to KMXT to be interviewed on Public Radio - you can listen live at http://www.kmxt.org/ if you want to hear about our adventures so far...
At 3,588 square miles, Kodiak Island is the largest island in the Kodiak Island Archipelago and the second largest island in the United States. Only the island of Hawaii is larger. The City of Kodiak, at the northeastern tip of the island, is about 250 miles south of Anchorage. The city serves as the major supply and transportation hub for the archipelago's six villages.
We'll be dividing our time between the town of Kodiak, and the small fishing camps along the shores of Olga Bay, which is the large bay just north of Akhiok on the southern end of the island.
